Portable fire extinguishers are mechanical devices which
require periodic service and maintenance to maintain optimum operating
condition. While "disposable" type models cannot be serviced,
they must be checked for periodic replacement requirements. Any time an
extinguisher is discharged it must be recharged or replaced!
